UUFSD-Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of San Dieguito

Get to know the UUFSD Fellowship from what the Ministerial Search Committee learned through focus groups and a survey

The Focus Groups

In order to deeply dive into the Fellowship’s hopes, desires, and concerns, the Ministerial Search Committee conducted a series of Focus Groups/Cottage Meetings.

To get the broadest and most complete involvement, we conducted many meetings, held with three types of members and in a variety of settings. Some of the groups were directed to the adult Fellowship. Other groups were focused on youth: JRUU and YRUU members. Many groups were also held with committees and committee chairs.

So the most members could participate, we facilitated group meetings in member homes, at the Fellowship, in conjunction with regularly scheduled committee meetings, and at DeBenneville Pines during the annual Fellowship mountain outing.

The discussions were open, frank, and ranged from gratitude for all that UUFSD has been, to frustrations and concerns about challenges that seem to keep UUFSD from all it might be, mingled with hopes and intentions for the future.

More than two-thirds of the Fellowship members participated in this process by either completing a survey of attending a Focus Group.

In addition to the many Focus Groups, the UUFSD Ministerial Search Committee conducted a Fellowship-Wide survey. More details about the survey can be found on the Survey page of this website.
